You have arrived at the website of the Second Tuesday Slam in Portland, ME. This is no longer the online home of the best, most audacious, and fun open mic and slam poetry reading in town. If you're in Portland, and you read & write poetry, you should absolutely be at the Acoustic Spoken Word. No exceptions!

The Acoustic Spoken Word is held every Tuesday night, and there's a slam monthly on (surprise!) the second Tuesday of the month. The format varies, but every week there is an open reading (where all are welcome to sign up), often followed by a featured poet in Spoken Word/Slam, and the poetry slam follows.

The event is held at Acoustic Coffee on lower Danforth Street (number 32) on the edge of Portland's Arts District and the historic Old Port District.
